The Portland Gherkins are the Little pickles. AS the Direct affiliate of the Portland Pickles, they are the farm system for the pickles.
After their founding in 2019, the Gherkins played their first season in the Summer of 2020, playing through the pandemic. As one of the inaugural teams in the Wild Wild West League, the Gherkins are an exciting part of the Portland Baseball scene!
2021 Portland Gherkins!
The Portland Gherkins 2021 season was nothing short of exciting so far. They were one of the hottest teams out of the gate, and have kept that high level of play going all season long! Their talent is what has been driving their success. They had players who have been promoted to other teams in the West Coast League, including Jacob Maiben who was called up to the Pickles!

Most Exciting Baseball Play: The Pickle
Superstition: Before every game Lil’ P takes off his 5 panel hat and bows to the Sun.
Interesting Fact: Lil’ P was raised by Grey Wolves who taught him everything he knows about baseball. As a result, whenever the Gherkins score, instead of cheering and clapping, Lil’ P howls towards the sky like a wolf.
Theme Song: Throughout his travels to find Dillon, Lil’ P scoured the country. Along his travels he ended up in the 3rd ward of New Orleans where he met Master P and all the No Limit Soldiers. Those boys treated Lil’ P right (must have been his name).
