Playoffs Recap

Day 1 of the WWWL playoffs has concluded on a very predictable note. The West Linn Knights and Portland Pickles each won their respective games and will face each other in the first-ever WWWL Championship game.

The Knights beat the Portland Gherkins 5-0 during the battle of the 1 and 4 seeds in the playoffs. Chad Stevens was the offense on the day for the Knights as he hit two home runs on the day and drove in four runs. Meanwhile, Knights pitchers struck out 15 Gherks thanks to Jake Pfennigs, Jack Washburn, and Jacob Dobmeier

In the showdown between the Pickles and the Gresham GreyWolves, the GreyWolves jumped out to an early lead but were unable to hold it as the Pickles won 10-3. Matt Hardy lead the way as he went a WWWL high seven innings on the start with 9 strikeouts against the mighty GWolves. Dillon’s squad secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the third inning. They were led by Kenyon Yovan, CJ Rivers, and Danny O'Reilly, all driving in runs in the inning.
